There is just so much to love about this and of course Portofino or pronounced Portofin in Italian. This little fishermen’s town on the Italian Riviera is so beautiful that there are three replicas of the town around the world. The town’s popularity grew during the late 19th century when it became a favourite destination for European aristocrats. Hollywood film stars of the 50s and 60s began to holiday there, and in the 1960’s it became an essential part of ‘La Dolce Vita’ and Italian High Society.
Did you know?
The Christ of Abyss statue which was erected in 1954 is in Portofino, at a depth of 17 metres (56ft). The statue protects fishermen and scuba divers.
